The Tri-Border Ferret Welfare Society (T.B.F.W.S) was formed in 2004, their main aim being to rescue, care for and re-home unwanted and abandoned ferrets, other services include giving people advice about ferrets both of the workinging vairety and those tha would be kept as pets. They even offer a 'Holiday Home' service for those going away.

The Society is not a registered charity but is a charitable cause. All monies raised go towards the care and promotion of ferret welfare, both as domestic pets and working animals; it also goes towards the upkeep of rescued ferrets while they are in the society's care.

The T.B.F.W.S. offers its services to animal welfare organisations such as the RSPCA, PDSA and the police. The area covered will encompass the tri-border area of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. They will be primarily raising funds for all ferret rescue centres within a 50 mile radius.
