| Little black specks on your ferret's skin indicate fleas. Dips are by far the easiest remedy. It is almost impossible to get a powder or spray all the way through a ferret's dense fur to the skin. Purchase a cat type dip, follow the directions carefully, mix about a bucketful and put the ferret in it. |
| You should also purchase a house and kennel spray. Use the spray on the carpet and cushions where the ferret tends to rest and play. Fleas and flea eggs will be living on these areas, just waiting for the ferret. Remember do not use the spray on the ferret. Ask your veterinarian or pet store to recommend a combination of flea products that can safely be used together. |
| There are many good flea 'bombs' on the market now that can kill the live fleas and have a second residual chemical to keep hatching flea eggs from developing into adult fleas. You must treat both the pet and the home environment to eliminate the problem. |
