Heart Worm

Although this problem is mostly prevalent in the southeast (USA), these internal parasites have been spread by mosquitoes to almost every state in the USA. Adult heartworms live in the right side of the the heart and arteries supplying blood to the lungs.

Symptoms include weight loss, jaundice and coughing. Prevention is the best approach so discuss this problem with your veterinarian.
